Once again, the Eide name was well known throughout the summer softball leagues here in the midwest.
This summer, we had three softball teams sponsored by Eide Ford and Eide Ford Mandan, and one team sponsored by Eide Chrysler St. Cloud.
Each team competed in games each week, as well as in several tournaments throughout the summer.
For the first time, we had a womens C Division team, who dominated and placed in many tournaments:
Returning from last year, our Eide Men’s C Division team was undefeated, winning 21 games in the Mandan Upper League. They also won and placed in several tournaments:
They still have two more tournaments to compete in, one this weekend and the second at the beginning of October, in Las Vegas, NV - keep an eye out on our social media pages to see how they do!
Our Eide Men’s Rec 3 (Mandan Middle) League was composed of several employees from both Eide Ford and Eide Ford Mandan, and once again they had so much fun competing and playing together each week. Sadly, our Used Car Manager and softball veteran of 40 years, Deno Muller, retired from the team after this season. We are sad to see him go, and will miss his pitching skills for years to come.
Our team sponsored by Eide Chrysler St. Cloud was a Men’s 50+ Division team, and made their way to Bismarck for McQuades, and got 2nd place in their division, taking home quite a large trophy to commemorate their time in North Dakota.
“Eide has really made an effort over the years to support local sports at the youth and high school level,” says Jesse Schuchard, General Manager at Eide Ford. “Recently, we’ve really expanded that to supporting adult leagues, as well with softball, golf, bowling, and other sports. We had multiple softball teams this year at various levels, mens and womens, who had fantastic seasons. Plenty of trophies that I don’t have room for. Through these sponsorships, we’ve met many great people who have also ended up becoming employees and customers. I look forward to being able to continue to support those programs and what they offer.”
“Playing softball in the summers has always been so much fun,” says Deno Muller, Used Car Manager at Eide Ford Mandan. “It was always good to get together with the guys; we have been able to develop some strong bonds, and the comradery carries over into our work day, which has made each day enjoyable. Although this season didn’t have the ending we wanted, we still played hard and had a good season overall. I will miss softball, but am thankful for the years I have had.”
We love being able to sponsor several softball teams each summer, creating a way for employees and other members of our community to come together and play a sport they all love. It has been an amazing summer with some trophy’s to commemorate, and we are excited to see what next summer brings.
