The 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee is available in five trims: Laredo, Limited, Overland, Summit and the high-performance SRT. All but the SRT feature a standard 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine that makes 295 horsepower and 260 ft-lb of torque. Key features of the 75th Anniversary Edition models include 18- or 20-inch alloy wheels, special exterior appointments with bronze accents over Recon Green paint while inside there's an 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen and special cloth or leather seating.

The Grand Cherokee SRT is a different beast. Intended for on-road performance, it utilizes an on-demand four-wheel drive system, a 465-horsepower 6.4L V8 engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission. Underneath, there's an electronic limited-slip differential, active damping suspension and performance-tuned steering. Big 20-inch aluminum wheels, special body-color trim, HID headlamps, fog lamps and rain-sensing wipers are standard as well. Inside, the SRT comes with heated and ventilated power-adjustable leather seats, a heated steering wheel and keyless proximity entry.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee has proven itself the premiere luxury SUV for 20 years. The latest Grand Cherokee builds on that tradition by offering civilized highway driving as well as the equipment to make a credible show off-road. The base Laredo 4x2 starts at just under $30,000 and comes very well equipped. Meanwhile, the top-of-the-line SRT's all-wheel-drive on-road performance rivals that of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo, but for half the price.
